BEGINNING MARCH 4th RBMCC WILL BEGIN OFFERING 2 SERVICES,
WITH THE TRADITIONAL SERVICE MOVING TO 5:00 PM
AND THE 2nd SERVICE, P-3, WILL BEGIN AT 7:15.

|
Our primary Sunday worship service begins at 7:15 in the evening and ends about 8:30. We have fellowship after church with light food and refreshments where people socialize with each other for anywhere from a few minutes up to 45 minutes after service.
Our worship style is contemporary and is suited for a small to medium size church environment. We worship with guitar and occasionally piano accompaniment. We are also intentional about creating space for our favorite traditional songs and hymns, both through contemporary interpretation/arrangements as well as traditional organ accompanied hymns to open and close our service. Offertory music is often presented by musicians from within our congregation as “special music” offerings. |
| RBMCC was lay-led from 2007 - 2011, during which time we have enjoyed the variety of speakers and the breadth of perspective that has come with having an “open” pulpit. We are now have Ty Bradley as our pastoral leader, who preaches 2-3 times a month and ministers to the needs of the Congregation. We also preserve the traditions of our open pulpit by inviting Lay and guest preachers to speak at least once, sometimes twice or thrice monthly. |

We observe the sacrament of Holy Communion weekly during our worship service in an “open” fashion. This means, simply, that we place no requirements on anyone who wishes to receive the Communion elements. The invitation to remember Christ’s work on the cross comes not from any church or human being, but directly from God through Jesus Himself. We believe that if you feel drawn to receive Communion it means God’s Spirit has expressly invited you to do so. It is our deep honor to facilitate your presence at God’s table.
We offer Communion weekly as part of the MCC tradition that dates back to when our founder, Troy Perry, first gathered with 12 gay women and men to worship in a private home in 1968. They found that many people were profoundly blessed to receive Communion, as they had previously been denied either explicitly or implicitly from partaking. It was decided that whenever MCC churches meet, Communion will be celebrated so that all present will have the opportunity to participate, some for perhaps the first time in a long time. |
