Faith We believe in the power of prayer. We believe that God loves every human being and that God has the power to transform the lives of those who are open to the possibility of positive personal transformation. We believe that when you realize that God knows you "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" faith is empty. We also believe that you do not have to be "out" to be "in" with God. We believe that wherever two or more people are gathered together in the name of Christ, to worship together, break bread together and work together, that the Holy Spirit is present and will use that community to build a church worthy of God's presence. Faith that Forgives, Faith that Heals We believe that transformation begins with forgiveness and crescendos in salvation from that which seeks to keep us separated from God. We believe that all humanity suffers from the same fate - and therefore none of us is above another - we are all the same. We believe that through Christ, all things are possible, and this includes the salvation from our own pain, guilt, opression, fear, and cycles of depression or despair. We believe it is just as important to forgive others as it is to forgive ourselves. We believe in the importance of personal healing from the inside out - and this is especially true of those of us in the GLBT community, many of whom have suffered greatly from hateful rhetoric nurtured by the Religious Right. We believe in the ability of the Holy Spirit to move through mindsets, prejudices and pre-conceived assumptions, in order to distill within each of us the truth, the way and the light that comes from God through following Jesus Christ. We believe as GLBT Christians that it is important for us to forgive those in the Christian and heterosexual communities who continue to persecute sexual minorities - for they know not what they do. Faith in Love, Faith in Service We believe that Jesus led by example, and that we are to follow His lead. We believe therefore, that we are called to serve one another as we are called to love one another as Christ loves us. We believe that no one is immune from the ability to feel the love of God and likewise everyone is able to become a servant of love and a minister of faith in her or his own way. |
PODCAST Check out Ty's Sample one of our own Words to live by: "I give you a new commandment, that you love one another. Just as I have loved you, you also should love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another." For in the one Spirit we were all baptized into one body... and we were all made to drink of one Spirit. Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your minds, so that you may discern what is the will of God - what is good and acceptable and perfect. "No one after lighting a lamp hides it under a jar, or puts it under a bed, but puts it on a lampstand , so that those who enter may see the light." Do not worry about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. As God's chosen ones, holy and beloved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience. Bear with one another and if anyone has a complaint against another, forgive each other; just as the Lord has forgiven you, so you must also forgive. Above all, clothe yourselves with love, which binds everything together in perfect harmony. |

We believe that the church - the body of believers assembled together - has the capacity to transform lives, transcend barriers and translate the Gospel of Jesus Christ into a language of daily action. Faith for Justice We believe that the work of Jesus Christ is far from over - that there is much to be done in Orange County and around the world. We believe justice begins with ourselves and confronting and then forgiving any injustice we inflict upon ourselves or upon others is the first step to changing the world as Christ would have it changed. We believe that people with HIV / AIDS have become for many, the lepers of our day and we intend to change that. We believe that transgendered people have a purpose that is Biblically rooted, and are not to be treated as outcasts but are to be welcomed as all children of God are to be welcomed. We believe our sisters and brothers in far off lands who live and worship at great risk need to be lifted up in prayer, need to be supprted with finances and need to be visited often to encourage them their struggle and to share with them their plight. We believe we each have a Christian responsibility to ease suffering, end opression, become citizens of Christ and use that citizenship to emancipate others through Christian relationship and action.
